Gymnast Wins State Titles
Allison Haller of Pinehurst has completed another highly successful power tumbling and trampoline season.
She swept the competition and placed first in level 9 power tumbling, level 10 trampoline and level 10 double-mini trampoline at meets in Greensboro, Kernersville and Hickory, in February, March and April 2006. In April, in Carolina Beach, Haller became state champion in all three events.
Competing against athletes from North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and Florida at the Region V championships earlier this month in Greensboro, Haller again took first place in all three events making her Regional Champion for girls, age 13-14. Her final competition of the year will be at the Junior Olympic National Championships in Schaum-burg, Ill., in July.
Haller's excellent showing at the regional championships qualified her for the Regional All-Star team in both trampoline and double-mini trampoline. She will compete, with others in Region V, against six other regions from around the country to determine which region has national bragging rights for 2006. This competition will also take place at the Junior Olympic National Championships in Schaumburg.
Haller competes for C&B Flip Force Gymnastics in Kernersville under the guidance of coach, Esau Huang. She is a rising ninth grader at Pinecrest High School.
