Like it or not, Iran is threatening to destroy Israel. We may end up fighting Iran. Why? Israel has no oil. It occupies a small area. If you drive from here to Charlotte, well, you get the idea of its size. Reportedly Golda Meir said something like: We (the Jews) wandered 3,000 years and settled on the only piece of the Middle East that has no oil.
Jesus was reportedly born there. Supposedly the Jewish race started in Ur (Iraq). Confusing. But like it or not, we will defend Israel because, to be frank, Jesus Christ was born there. So they say. Like it or not.
A country of some 6 million, Israel may be more valuable to the world than most nations -- just look at the technology that comes out of Israel. So, if you take the secular view you can stay really confused. From 'above,' it all makes perfect sense.
