Funny thing is, the Republican Senators and Karl Rove haven't pointed out that the commanding general wants to "cut and run." I wonder why that is?
Do you think they didn't hear him? Surely a general who wants to see the terrorists defeat America shouldn't be leading our brave troops. That is true, isn't it? I mean, he talks the same as the Democrats, and the Republicans rightly called those cowards all kinds of names.
Why don't they demand "Cut and Run Casey" be replaced?
Could it be that maybe the Republicans were just engaged in political name-calling? That they were just engaged in distracting America with frivolous politics instead of serious legislative business in order to appeal to their base and increase their low poll numbers? Would the party of Karl Rove do that?
That's almost impossible!
But wait! Could it be that Republicans have listened to someone who has real qualifications to speak to an issue? That they might entertain an opposing opinion from someone outside the closed circle of civilians who've never served in combat? Might Republicans be willing to evaluate current, reliable, apolitical information and (shock!) pull their heads out of the sand, admit they were wrong, and adjust their course of policy?
Hmmm. Now that's impossible!
