The funeral service will be held Thursday, at 11 a.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Oldham and the Rev. Herbert Russell officiating. Burial will take place after the funeral with a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery in Asheboro.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.
Mrs. Walston was born in Moore County. She was the daughter of the late James Arch Medlin and Sarah Catherine Johnson Medlin.
Mrs. Walston was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Allen Walston; her four brothers, Tom Medlin, Robert Medlin, Farley Medlin and Jim Medlin; and two of her sisters, Annie Bell Russell and Rebecca Donithan.
Mrs. Walston is survived by three sons, James Lee Walston and his wife, Catherine, of Broadway, Edward Lee Walston and his wife, Thelma, of Vass, and Jackie Bruce Walston of Goldsboro; her two daughters, Peggy Arnette of Sanford and Becky Dodson and her husband, William, of Moncure.
She is also survived by her sister, Mary Fannie Zooleck of New Britain, Conn.; and her 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
