Randolph Telephone employees have been trained by members of Governor Easley's Crime Prevention Team and the Randolph Count Sheriff's Department on how to spot unusual or suspicious activities.
The official welcome and training session was conducted June 16 by Starr Barbaro of the Governor's Crime Prevention and Cpl. Scott Harris from the Randolph County Sheriff's Department.
Employees were instructed on what to do if they come across suspicious or emergency situations.
Randolph Telephone field technician trucks are now identified with the Fleet Watch logo.
If a citizen is in need, look for that logo. Encourage your children to seek these technicians out if they are in need of help.
"Our employees are out in our service area all the time. If they can help law enforcement spot criminal activity, then this is just one more way we can serve our community," said Steve A. Cox, General Manager. "We are proud to get involved in enhancing the safety of our community through a program like this."
